Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 and 2.5 Remix 3/6 Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days Cinematics Review

“The Beginning of Roxas”

I’m back with the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 and 2.5 Remix review with Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days. Now this game only has cutscenes so there’s no gameplay so this review will be short and I won’t share any spoilers.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days was released on Sep. 29, 2009 on the Nintendo DS. So now on the PS4 the graphics are in HD and it looks amazing.
358/2 days story focus on the origin story of Roxas Sora’s Nobody of how he came into Organization XIII and how he came into Twilight Town. Now fans of the series already knew about Roxas and his involvement with the Organization because he was actually introduced in Kingdom Hearts II before 358/2 days.
The story takes place during and after the events of Chain of Memories so this was technically the final prologue before Kingdom Hearts II.
In these cutscenes we see a lot of Roxas and Axel together and we see them develop a bond despite them being Nobodies and not supposed to feel anything. They are introduced to a Nobody named Xion who’s actually the 14th member of the Organization.Roxas, Axel and Xion are basically the three main characters in these cutscenes. You see the friendship that these three Nobodies form but as the cutscenes go on we start finding out more about Xion and see why the Organization only stuck with its 13 members. We also see the King Mickey and Riku’s involvement with Roxas.

Now I can see why Square Enix made 358/2 days only having cutscenes and my guess is this game just explains the origins of Roxas. You can pretty much explain it in short time, granted it would still be pretty cool to actually play the game and fight against enemies and try out the co-op feature in this game.
In the end 358/2 days is pretty decent movie (if you want to call it that.) You already are  aware of a couple of things in this movie so there really wasn’t a whole lot of surprises.  Now I did say that there’s probably no point into making it an actual game but again it would be pretty cool to fight against enemies especially the final boss. I do want to say one more thing and that’s towards the end of the game I almost cried. The ending scene really touched me and it might touch you too and the music makes it even more sad. If you don’t feel anything towards the end than you truly are a Nobody. I give Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days HD cutscenes a 7 out of 10.
