Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix 4/6 Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix Review

Robert Knuckles
“Huge Upgrade”

Hey guys back with another Kingdom Hearts Review and I want apologize for the delay but I didn’t forget about you guys and I hope you enjoy this review.
Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix is a Japan exclusive updated game of the original Kingdom Hearts II. It was released March 29, 2007 for the PS2.
Just like in the first Final Mix Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix features english voice acting with japanese subtitles but the upgrade is even bigger than the last game.
The story is still the same in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. Sora, Donald and Goofy return and have regain their memories from Castle Oblivion. The three heroes are on a new adventure as they fight heartless and the new enemies The Nobodies. Nobodies are made empty shells that want hearts. Nobodies are created after a heartless is created. Nobodies can come in any form thus making them create the antagonist group of the game Organization XIII. They want Kingdom Hearts in order to become whole and will go through any means in order to get what they want.
Final Mix shows new scenes that feature more of the Organization plans and some little behind the scenes with Roxas (Sora’s Nobody) and his friend Axel.
A new drive form is featured called Limit Form. This drive form gives Sora abilities from the first Kingdom hearts game and it doesn’t require Sora to use Donald and Goofy.

Now one of my favorite features in this game are the Absent Silhouettes. The Absent Silhouettes features the five people from the Organization that were defeated in Chain of Memories. Vexen, Larxene, Marluxia, Lexaeus and Zexion return as bosses. Player’s will see a dark small cloud that show their weapon and players will have the option if they want to face them or not but I do want to warn players that you’ll want to be at high level because they are tough to beat and it’s a fun challenge.

Another new feature in Final Mix is in Radiant Garden aka Hallow Baston features a new section called Cavern of Remembrance and it's a lot of fun but it's hard. Tough enemies linger around and you’ll need certain abilities in order to progress farther to the end. When players get to the end they’ll enter a room where they’ll get to fight every member or Organization XIII that they defeated in Data Battles but let me warn you.. They are A LOT TOUGHER. Even being at level 99 it's a challenge. Players will need to strategize in order to beat these tough opponents.

Now the last new feature i want to talk about is the new boss Lingering Will that is featured after beating the game and Lingering Will is definitely one of the hardest bosses in Kingdom Hearts history. Players of the series will know who the mysterious character is. Have fun fighting him!!!

In the end Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix is such a great game. It runs 60 frames per second and it runs great on the PS4. I notice that load times are faster and transforming into your drive is a lot faster as well but only on the PS4. Fighting members of the Organization again is a lot of fun and very challenging. I also want to say that The Cavern of Remembrance music is soooo good and relaxing. At times I just stand and don’t do anything so I can listen to the music. Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix receives a 9 out of 10
